Gayana Eco Resort has branched out Alu-Alu Cafe in KK to bring fresh fish delicacies that is compliant with the Good Aquaculture Practice (GAP) certification. Its a great place to enjoy local Sabah fish goodness that is truly local yet with a modern twist. However, with an extensive menu of mostly fish based dishes, a big entourage might not be advised as one might get bored with a dinner only based on fish dishes.
Wok-Fried Fish Fillet with Shredded Potato & Wasabi (RM 25.00)
This is a must-order dish when visiting here, freshly sliced fish fillet fried to perfection. Then, a whole lot of shredded potato and wasabi based cream, its a perfect blend of crisp and creamy in one bite. Don't worry about the wasabi as the dish itself itself is not spicy at all.
Stir-Fried Fish Fillet with Butter Milk Sauce (RM 25.00)
This heavily drenched fish fillet was awesome with a crisp perfection in a pool of buttered milk gravy that is a hit with everyone! The delicious thick creamy sauce was sweet and salty that also goes well with our rice.
Salted Vegetable & Beancurd Soup (RM 25.00)
Next, a simple & common salted vegetable & beancurd soup that opts out the poultry meat and replaces it with fresh fish bone parts which the freshness permeates through the broth. However, the fish itself do smell fishy and it might prove unpleasant to some.
Steam Chicken with Herbs & Salt (Rm 35.00)
Alas, something apart from fish! The only poultry dish for now is their steamed whole chicken slapped with herbs and salt and wrapped in an aluminium foil to blossom the flavour and also prevent heat dissipation. You can either have a choice of half or whole chicken.
Assam Curry Fish (RM 30.00)
Vegetables served here are of organic quality which was healthy and refreshing. Do pick up their available vegetables locally produce from our farm.
