Yoke Heng Seafood Restaurant @ Seri Kembangan

Random food hunting is actually worthwhile the risk in which you randomly pick a restaurant that you have never visited before. I stumbled upon Yoke Heng Seafood Restaurant randomly while using the GPS navigator to find a place for lunch. Although this place had been reviewed many times by the media, I would like to recommend again this place as the food served here was simply enticing and invigorating. This place had been featured by Ho Chak! and visited by many Hong Kong celebrities.

Aluminium Wrapped Spare Ribs
Firstly, this spare ribs tops my list compared to any spare ribs I've eaten so far. Their succulent spare ribs were drenched with sweet & sour sauce and wrapped with aluminium foil to hold the flavours together & preventing heat loss. Once open, this crispy yet flavourful spare ribs were perfect to be eaten individually or with your rice.

Claypot Loh Shu Fun
Claypot Loh Shu Fun
Claypot Loh Shu Fun or silver needle noodles, is a signature dish that is a must-order for first time visitors. What makes this dish so special lies within their delicious gravy broth that resembles Loh Mee. The noodles are served in a claypot of white broth that contains eggs, mushrooms, minced pork, and a spoonful of chopped green onions. I guess what makes this a winner was that the broth tasted so luscious, eventually you will crave for more.

Braised Yee Mee with Fresh Water Prawns
Braised Yee Mee with Fresh Water Prawns
Another must-order signature dish is their Braised Yee Mee with Fresh Water Prawns. Similiarly, the thick gravy resembles the Claypot Loh Shu Fun broth but with a stronger seafood essence to it. Every hard crunchy bite of the Yee Mee was soften with a delightful tasting thick gravy. The fresh water prawns used were indeed fresh and permeates a wonderful seafood pop into the dish.

Fried Noodles with Bittergourd & Salted Egg Yolk
On the first time encountering such dish, I was amazed on how creative they can get with their menu. Using simple handmade noodles, this noodles were tossed and fried with sliced bitter gourd and salted egg yolk. It depicts a "Chinese" version of mee mamak but with a roughness of salted egg yolk in every bite. I do recommend this dish.

Choy Sum Vegetable

Of course, some green vegetables to balance our meal. A simple cooked choy sum that is lighty stir fry to accompany our high calorie meals.

Homemade Belacan
Do ask for their non spicy homemade belacan as it is a great addition to their flavourful dishes.

Yoke Heng Seafood Restaurant
Finally, I advice to order a little more for big appetite eaters. Altogether, we ordered a portion size for 6 pax when there is only 4 of us, but the amount of food were just right. Sadly, I do not remember the price of the dishes but overall the meal was about RM 120 for 4 pax. Generally, the food here was simply divine and luscious. Therefore, I will definitely visit back here!
