Restoran Grandpa @ Paramount Garden. Petaling Jaya

As the Chinese New Year holidays have passed by, with many adding up their belly mass, its time again for us to get back to our food reviews! This time, here is a post on a restaurant I visited before taking a long CNY break. Located in Paramount Garden of busy PJ, Grandpa Restaurant was one of the nearest distance to us for a delicious Bak Kut Teh lunch.

Yam Rice (RM 2.00)
You can have a choice of a Yam or white rice. The yam rice was indeed good as the flavours of the yam essence was permeating. In most Bak Kut Teh places, rice are served in either white, yam or, oil cooked rice.

Char Gui (RM 1.50)
A must "char gui" dish on every Bak Kut Teh occasion! Nothing is complete without dipping char gui in the Bak Kut Teh soup!

Preserved Vegetable (RM 2.50)
A simple preserved vegetable dish but the taste was abit bland and could use some more saltiness.

Stew Fish Head (RM 26.00)
This brewing stew fish head was really spicy as most of us were sweating eating this. The thick flavours This spicy broth of fish head was good and its generous portion of sauce goes well with our rice, be it yam or white.

Claypot Bak Kut Teh (RM 33.00)
A simple mixture of pork belly, mushrooms, pork ribs in the Bak Kut Teh soup was ok to us. The clear Teochew style soup was a mild light soup which some might prefer over strong flavoured soup.

Restoran Grandpa
During night time, this place also serves a variety of steamed fishes.
