Yishensu (Vegetarian) @ 1 Utama, Petaling Jaya

Vegetarian meals can be refreshing sometimes as it is a good way to increase our fiber intakes from fresh, vibrant & colourful array of vegetables. A vegetarian connoisseur, Yishensu in 1 Utama offers superb chinese & local vegetarian cuisines. Although I was skeptical at first as I really do not like vegetables (shame on me!), but the food served in Yishensu were really delicious and healthy at the same time.

House Emperor Tofu (RM 18.00)

Apple Cider Vinegar Salad (RM 12.00)
To start things off, we ordered a simple salad which consists of sliced green apples, fresh lettuce, raisins, a handful of nuts, and finally coated with apple cider vinegar making it a great appetizer! It tasted really good and fresh with a sourness to it.

Mini Pot Vege Shark Fin Soup (RM15.00)
We tried one of their specialties, which was the mini pot vege shark fin soup for one pax. Using glass noodles to imitate shark fins and vegetarian crab meats, it tasted quite similiar to the typical shark fin soup (we do no encourage anyone to eat real shark fins!) but detected a heavy use of flour used to thicken their soup.

Stir Fry Kai Lan with Shimeiji Mushroom (RM 16.00)
A simple stir fry kailan with sliced carrots & Shimeiji mushrooms was a great dish as it embodies a healthy light green flavour without any use of MSG.

House Emperor Tofu (RM 18.00)
Their signature House Emperor Tofu was superb as i loved it. Using their homemade tofu cooked with  some kind of oyster sauce was delicious as their tofu was smooth and tasted great. I do not know whats on top of it but it was kinda hard for me.

Fruity Salad Crispy Prawn (RM22.00)
One of their new dishes, Fruity Salad with Crispy Prawn was alright to me. Using vegetarian prawns deep fried in flour, it tasted crispy to the core, and accompanied with a mixed fruity salad tossed in salad cream. Overall it was a great dish, except the apples and oranges were sour here.

Lemon/Lime Sour Plum (RM4.50 each)
A refreshing lime/lemon drink with sour plums which tasted really good compared to the ones served outside. A perfect balance of sugar and sourness.

Yishensu @ 1 Utama
Overall, I had a great time in Yishensu as their vegetarian meals were refreshing especially for a meatarian like me :P. Recommended to visit!
