Previously, I written a post on Wong Kwok's flavourful dim sum at one of their branches (Click here for previous post), I decided to visit back the original dim sum location at Bundusan, Penampang which the original chef is cooking these delicious dim sum delicacies. If you've want to hunt some dim sums in Kota Kinabalu, Wong Kwok Restaurant offers such great delicacies using Sabah's fresh seafood meats.
This place is mostly packed with office staff working nearby weekdays or with families on weekends. Their dim sum are served as early as 7 am until noon. This is a good place for a hearty breakfast with your loved ones.
Steamed Pork Ribs
Loved their steamed pork ribs as it was steamed to its right softness and a flavourful essence to sip.
The porridge is abit dissapointing to me, almost everytime I order this dish, its always to be lacking in flavour and taste in their congee.
Char Siew Bao
The roasted pork buns are tasty which the taste or char siew was perfect when bitten enveloped by a warm white bun.
Custard Egg Yolk Bun
The custard egg yolk bun has definitely improved since I last been here, the savoury custard mixed with duck egg enveloped in a bun was my obessesion. I could eat 10 of these hhehe.
These big size beef balls were my father's favourite. Rich in flavour but lack in texture for me.
Overall, the dim sums here are one of KK's top dim sum hotspots to visit. Do drop by to try their dim sum using fresh local produce.
